Baby's leg torn off

The right leg of one-month-old Ronnakorn Boonkua was cut off yesterday when he was pulled into a motorbike's chain with a towel wrapped around his body.

The horrifying accident took place in Ratchaburi's Muang district while the boy's parents, Suthin Khanthom and Boonma Boonkua, were riding back home from making merit.

Boonma said she was carrying the boy but did not know how the towel got stuck in the chain and pulled him into it. The chain jammed and the motorcycle stopped. They tried to pull the baby boy out of the chain, but he was severely hurt.

Police and rescue workers had to cut the chain to free the baby so that he could be taken to Ratchaburi General Hospital.
