SET punishes Merchant Partner

The Stock Exchange of Thailand's sub-committee has put Merchant Partner Securities on a 1-year probation for favouring a marketing officer in an inappropriate way.

The exchange said in a statement that Merchant Partner Securities provided rewards to a marketing officer as part of the incentive scheme though the officer had not executed any stock buy/sell orders for clients.

Suthichai Chitvanich, executive vice president of the exchange, said that the sub-committee also instructed the company's three executives to strictly follow the exchange's internal control regulations.
