The allocation came to the relief of DTAC, which is concerned about its shortage of mobile-phone numbers.
An NTC source said the licensing body was expected to consider a request from Advanced Info Service (AIS) next week for an additional 3 million mobile-phone numbers.
DTAC has complained that the NTC takes too much time to allocate additional phone numbers, making it difficult to serve market demand.
