Highlighting the latest digital technologies, the event is expected to attract more than 60 exhibitors, who will show off the industry's latest advertising, marketing and promotional innovations.

The main theme for Media Asia Expo '07 will be "new media, new concept, new location". It is being supported by the Commerce Ministry's Department of Export Promotion and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and is being staged by Ibrix, a local exhibition organiser, in cooperation with the Advertising and Sign Producers' Association, the Event Management Association and the Out of Home Club. It will be held from September 27-30 at Impact Muang Thong Thani.

Ibrix managing director Sakkachat Sivabovorn said the event would feature innovative digital media such as animation, marketing and public relations activities on websites and mobile phones, outdoor media such as billboards and Trivision, and transportation media using the Skytrain, the subway and bus stations. It will also include more conventional mass media such as newspapers, tabloids and new magazines.

"The highlight will be the digital innovative media zone, which will showcase the use of digital technologies with various advertising media formats such as out-of-home media, print media and even personal mobile media like 3G mobile phones," Sakkachat said.

The event will reflect the fact that digital technologies are these days very close to people's daily lives, he said. It will enhance the advertising industry as well as providing business opportunities between media companies and users.

"We expect the four-day expo to attract more than 10,000 visitors. Half of them will be from the media industry and the rest will be members of the public," Sakkachat said.
