Prasert Bunsri said he saw nothing wrong with Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin opening a letter-of-credit account to accommodate the Bt6.68-billion deal.
"There is also nothing about a reciprocal deal in which cooked chicken is on offer, under a Commerce Ministry option," he said.
"I still stick by the 60-page investigation report I completed in February."
Prasert said he was attempting to interview employees of Austrian firm Steyr, which produced the fire trucks and other equipment for the Bangkok administration under the deal.
"I am in the process of contacting them, but I admit it will not be easy getting them," he said.
Prasert said he was not interested in meeting with Democrat Party deputy spokesman Yuttaphong Charasathien, who had earlier offered to testify before his panel.
"The subpanel already has all the information he thinks he has to offer," he added.
"He only offers hearsay - but I want an eyewitness," he said.
