SET ends below 800-points

Thai share prices still recorded a decline on Tuesday, with the main index dropping 11.02 points or 1.37 per cent on continued foreign investors' sell-off amid anxiety that the US sub-prime mortgage loan problem might spread out.

Vote on Thailand's upcoming constitutional referendum on Sunday is another factor that keeps investors at bay. Turnover was thin at Bt15.69 billion.

The SET index finished the market at 793.82, off intraday's low at 791.33.

Blue chip stocks were at the selling-pressure. PTT Plc (PTT) fell 4.14 per cent at Bt278, Banpu Plc (Banpu) slumped 2.14 per cent at Bt274, Kasikornbank (KBANK) lost 3.85 per cent at Bt75 and Siam Cement Plc (SCC) dropped 0.80 per cent at Bt248.
