Anticipation was high after Patiwat successfully retained his title in the men's lightweight category on Friday, however, the hosts' fighters managed to earn only solitary silver medal to their name.

Thailand fielded their exponents in all three events- Chanatha Thanaroekchai and Chonnapas Premwaew in the men's and women's featherweight respectively and Watcharaporn Dongnoi in the women's lightweight, with Chonnapas the best bet among the trio.

In the final, the-19-year-old Chonnapas lost to Lim Sue Jeong of South Korea 1-8 in RSC outscore. Countrywoman Watcharaporn crashed out in the quarter-finals, losing to Hwang Hye-mi form South Korea 3-2, while Chanatha was eliminated by Tseng Ching-shiang of Taiwan 5-4 in the second round.
