Siam Makro showed the first half net profit of Bt598 million, which accounts for 43 per cent of the company's annualised target of Bt1.39 billion. The securities company expected the wholesale retailer to report a higher net profit in the second half.
"We maintain the profit target on expectation that the company would invest in only 2 new outlets this year and that the sale revenue would increase on focus of fresh food. This should enable the company to post annualised sale revenue at Bt62 billion or 11.7 per cent year on year. This should help it maintain the 2006 gross profit margin at 6 per cent," it said.
