Kosit: ready to adopt good baht advice from NLA

The government is ready to consider any good advice from National Legislative Assembly on foreign exchange management, said Deputy Prime Minister Kosit Panpiemras said prior to the start of the NLA meeting in the afternoon of Thursday.

Still, he insisted that the Bank of Thailand has been on the right track in managing the foreign exchanges.

"We have tried our best in managing the baht. To raise public confidence, we are ready to explain our views. Any NLA can shoot whatever questions," he said.

He also insisted that there is no need for measure to address the wide difference of offshore and onshore baht rate of Bt3-Bt4 as trading in both markets are not related.

On the planned diversion of foreign reserves to overseas investment Kosit said the reserves are not too big. Personally, he believes that it is not the right time to invest the reserves. But he is ready to discuss this with the Finance Ministry.
