CDO's impact on Thai banks is minimal

Bandid Nijathaworn, deputy governor of the Bank of Thailand, on Thursday said the impact from the Collateralised Debt Obligations (CDOs) investment by Thai banks would be minimal.



So far, he said, there was only BankThai that has invested in CDO that was backed up by sub-prime debts, while othere banks invested in CDOs that were backed up by higher quality of assets.

However, he warned banks to beware of  risk manaement amid current market volatility. - The Nation
