Petrol prices cut tomorrow

Oil retailers will cut petrol and diesel prices by 40 satang per litre, with effect on Thursday in line with the falling global oil price.

As a result, the price of the octane 95 petrol will be Bt28.39 per litre, octane 91 Bt27.59, and diesel Bt25.34.

PTT Plc senior executive vice president, Chaiwat Chooritti, said that this is the fifth price cut in 4 weeks.

Chaiwat attributed the cut to good news such as the facts that refineries in the US have resumed operations and there is an expectation that Opec will increase August output by 320,000 barrels a day to 30.47 million barrels. Meanwhile, there is a sign of recession in the US economy.

However, factors that could bring up the oil prices are the economic growth in China and India as well as the peace talks on Iraq.
