
Thirapat quoted the prime minister as telling the cabinet to find ways to campaign for at least 23 million votes.
There are around 45 million eligible voters in Thailand and he believed more than 50 per cent of voters would go to the national referendum.
However, Thiraphat he was concerned about a low turnout in Bangkok residents, where recorded the lowest turnout.
"I suggested at the cabinet meeting that a campaign be held on August 13 to encourage Bangkok residents to join with the government," he said.
He said the government would not push for a yes or a no, but would work on increasing awareness.
