Honda Trading invests in parts procurement centre in Thailand

Honda Trading (Thailand) has invested Bt247.5 million to set up its first procurement centre in Thailand

This project includes the construction of the warehouse located in Rojana Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya province, according to Hirunya Suchinai, deputy secretary-general of the Board of Investment (BoI).

This centre will support parts demand from its group's companies worldwide by focusing on Indonesia, the United States, India and Europe.

She said this project would boost an indirect export among small-and medium-sized part-makers in Thailand because around 70 per cent of total procurement would come from local manufacturers and the rest 30 per cent from other countries.

The company reported the BoI that it plans to buy auto-parts of around Bt20.2 billion from local manufacturers in the first three years of its operation. - The Nation
