AC Milan signs 17-year-old Pato for 20 million euros

Milan - Serie A club AC Milan has signed talented Brazilian striker Pato for 20 million euros (27.3 million dollars) Italian media reported on Friday.

The 17-year-old will receive a five-year contract with an after- tax salary of 2 million euros per year La Gazzetta dello Sport said.

The Champions League holders reached an agreement with Pato's agent Gilmar Veloz on Thursday and Pato is expected to arrive in Italy on Friday.

He joins Milan from Porto Alegre club International. He scored 12 goals in his last 27 games for the club and was a member of the Brazilian team at the recent under-20 world championship in Canada, where he scored three times.

His agent said that he is very happy to be joining AC Milan and to have the opportunity to play alongside his idol Ronaldo. dpa
