Eight leaders of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD), who have been in the Bangkok Remand Prison for one week, on Friday agreed to let Weng and Manit to request the Criminal Court for thier release on bail.
The two were released at 4:40 pm.
They said it would be more convenient to fight for the charge if the two stay outside the prison.
Nine DAAD leaders were arrested last Thursday for their alleged connection with clashes in front of Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda's residence on July 22. Jaran Dittha-apichai, former member of the National Human Rights Commission, was released on bail shortly after their apprehension.
The DAAD leaders decided that as a former judge, Manit could use his experience to look into the details of the charge.
Weng would take a responsibility for collecting all facts in the incident.
They requested for the bail after the Criminal Court Thursday rejected the request of the eight leaders for their immediate release from the prison.
Weng's wife, Thida, submited Bt200,000 in cash to court at 11 am as a guarante for Weng's release.
An hour earlier, Manit's wife, Phatcharin, submited Bt200,000 in cash to the court.
The court has yet to consider the requests.
