PTTEP seeks partners for Burma's M9 block

PTT Exploration and Production Plc plans to sell a 5 per cent stake in five natural gas projects in Myanmar to Oman Oil Co, PTTEP President Maroot Mrigadat said on Friday.

Those projects comprise Block M3, M4, M7, M9 and M11 in the Gulf of Martaban. The plan is subject to approval from the Burmese government, Maroot said.

The Burmese government will hold a 20 per cent stake in the projects.

The stake sale agreement is expected to be signed in the third quarter.

"We need to team up with strategic partners to reduce investment risks and share investment costs," Maroot said.

The investment in Block M9 alone is estimated to be at least US$1 billion.
