Small retailers threaten bigger gathering on Aug 7
A group of small retailers on Thursday gathered in front of the Government House, asking Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont to delay giant retailers' expansion in the Kingdom.
"We want the prime minister to have the Commerce Ministry order provincial governers to pose a ban on expansion. If this request is unanswered, small retailers nationwide will gather again here on August 7," said Phian Yongnoo, the leader of the group.
The group also asked the governor to rush promulgating the retail business and amended foreign business laws.
