Tammy Advances in Doubles

Tamarine Tanasugarn and Colombian Catalina Castano narrowly beat Eleni Danilidou of Greece and Jasmin Woehr of Germany 6-4 1-6 10-7 in the doubles first round of the doubles first round of the US$1.3 Acura Classic in California on Wednesday.

Tamarine, after the singles first round win over Laura Granville of the United States the day before, will play sixth-seeded Gisela Dulko of Argentina and Maria Kirilenko in the second round.

However, the tennis veteran has a mission impossible against world No 2 Maria Sharapova of Russia in the singles round two which is scheduled this morning on Centre Court.
