Burma shaken by 5.8 magnitude quake

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit central Burma Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage done, Thai meteorological authorities said.



The epicentre of the quake was pinpointed at 19.37 degree latitude and 95.6 degrees longitude, near Aunglan city in central Myanmar, said an official at the Thai Meteorological Department.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.//dpa
