Several provincial organisations in the Newin Chidchob stronghold made merit on Asarnha Bucha Day and prayed for political troubles to end.

The Satuk district mayor and private organisations hosted the ceremony.

Prataung Pratyaprit, a representative of the Pracha Ruam Jai Network, said people wanted to safeguard the country after witnessing groups attempting to attack the Privy Council, the courts, the Assets Examination Committee and the National Counter Corruption Commission.

"We want these actions to stop and we pray for the country to return to peace," he said.
