The club owners of the players said yesterday they still have no idea whether the trio will head for a trial at Manchester City.
Forward Teerasil Daengda, centre-back Kiatprawut Saiwaeo and right back Suree Sukha have been picked by the Football Association of Thailand [FAT] to train at Manchester, possibly at the end of this month. The move was perceived as one of the gains for Thai football following former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's takeover of the Sky Blues.
However, Chon Buri club, where Kiatprawut and Suree are under contract, has yet to receive any information on the matter, according to its president Withaya Khunpreum.
"I still don't know the details such as when or how long is their trip. I think this isn't right because if they are really going there, they should formally inform us first, and not do it like this," he said.
"On the first day when the news appeared, I called the FAT president [Worawi Makudi] who has been on a trip to China. He couldn't give me any details. Till today, nobody had contacted me. The only way I am learning about the story is from the newspapers. "The players are under contract to us and we have a commitment with our sponsors so anything that happens with the players should be done through the club."
Withaya was is willing to support the players' overseas trial, provided it proves beneficial to them. "We're ready to support them as long as the trip really benefits them. The objective of this trip must be concrete. If the trial is worthless, it is useless to send the players there. We still have another option in supporting our players to play in foreign leagues," Withaya said
