Earlier, the detained leaders of the anti-junta Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship will not ask for temporary release and are ready to go to Bangkok Remand Prison, one of the leaders Jatuporn Phromphan says on Friday.
However, Jaran Dittha-apichai had his lawyer apply for temporary release so that he will be able to resume his work as a member of the National Human Rights Commission.
During police questioning at Samsen police station on Thursday night, the DAAD leaders gave useful information although they denied all allegations, said Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Maj Gen Jate Mongkolhatthi, the chief investigator.
Police would need at least one additional month to complete their investigation, he said.
The nine will have to stay at the Bangkok Remand Prison if the court allowed further detention. Investigators will have to investigate them there, Jate said.
The nine men are being held in connection with Sunday's violent protest outside of the residence of Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda. They are charged with instigating violence and assembling more than 10 people with intent to disturb the peace.
