Of the 173, 25 were protesters and the rest were police officers and a soldier. But only 58 police officers were treated in hospital - the rest were sent home after receiving first aid at the Army Club.

Only two police officers and two protesters remained at the Police Hospital and Vajira Hospital respectively as of last night.

Sgt-Major Nara Wangmanao, 40, was admitted with acute myocardial infarction and Sgt-Major Suthep Vareelang, 33, with a brain injury.

A 48-year-old protester had bleeding in the brain from high blood pressure, while 53-year-old Thongpoon Thanomkham had a brain contusion.
