Exports in the first half 07 rises by 18 per cent

In spite of the baht rise, Thai exports in the first six months this year rose by 18.6 per cent to US$77.59 billion, the government said at the press conference on Tuesday.



In June alone, the exports totaled US$12.85 billion, a growth by 17.7 per cent.

Imports in the first six months totaled US$66 billion, a growth of 5.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.  Imports in June alone was US$11.96 billion US, a growth of 5.2 per cent.

In the first half this year, Thailand enjoyed the trade surplus of US$5.5 billion.

In the first six months last year, Thailand saw trade deficit of US$2.2 billion.

In June this year alone, Thailand saw trade surplus of US$882 million.
