Thais crash in Manila.

Thailand's Kunchala Voravichitchaikul and Songphon Anukrittayawan's challenge were shrugged off by Indonesian world No 2 Lilyana Natsir and Nova Widianto in the semi-finals at the Philippines Open Badminton Championships in Manila yesterday.

A convincing 21-14 21-18 victory helped the Indonesian world No 2 pair, who took four titles last year, improve the head-to-head to 3-0.

After missing the title on the home-turf event in May, the Indonesian duo would have a chance to lay their hands on the first trophy of the season when they take on South Korean Hwang Yu-mi and Han Sang-hoon for the first time in the final.

Natsir-Widianto's opponents dispatched Indonesian Vita Marissa and Flandy Limpele 23-21 11-21 21-19 in the other semi-finals.
