Young tennis player's dream comes true

Seventeen-year-old Nungnadda Wannasuk turned her dream into reality Saturday as she lifted up her first home title following a formidable win over Yi Chen of Taiwan in the US$10,000 SAT-PTT ITF Women's Circuit at the Srichaphan Tennis Academy in Khon Kaen on Saturday.

The teenager from Nakhon Ratchasima rallied back from 0-2 in the first set to upset the fourth-seeded Taiwanese 6-3 6-0 to collect her fourth ITF trophy after wins in Nigeria, India and Indonesia.

"I was so overwhelmed to win in Khon Kaen because I entered my first competition here many years ago. This is my most favouite trophy as it's the first time I win at home,'' said the local prodigy who will break into the top 500 next week.
