Cheaper for neighbours

The Interior Ministry is seeking to reduce the non-immigrant visa fee from Bt2,000 to Bt500 for 30,000 Lao, Cambodian and Burmese residents.

The ministerial regulation for the proposed reduction has already been drafted, a source at Government House said yesterday.

According to the draft, 10,000 residents each from Burma, Cambodia and Laos will benefit from the reduced fee, the source said.

A similar reduction was granted earlier this year to some Laotians, Cambodians and Burmese resident in the Kingdom.
