It wants to expand its market share in the provinces.

Managing director Kittichai Chuaratanaphong said yesterday the company had prepared itself to capture growth in the automobile-parts industry. It expects the sector to grow by 5 per cent to Bt35 billion this year.

He said Chin Seng Huat had expanded its market share by "exploiting strong distribution channels".

It is the dealer for parts for almost all leading Japanese and European carmakers.

As well as increasing market share, Kittichai said, the company has added new "premium products".

In the back office it improved efficiency with information technology.

The new warehouse will accommodate an inventory of more than 50,000 parts and serve as a distribution base for the provinces.

The company plans to build distribution centres in the North, South, Northeast and East to speed delivery.

Chin Seng Huat has been appointed sole dealer for Newsun Bearings of the US.
