Reduced non-immigrant visa fees proposed

The Interior Ministry is seeking to reduce the nonimmigrant visa fee from Bt2,000 to Bt500 for 30,000 Lao, Cambodian and Burmese residents.

The ministerial regulation for the proposed reduction has already been drafted, a source at Government House said yesterday.

According to the draft, 10,000 residents each from Burma, Cambodia and Laos will benefit from the reduced fee, the source said.

A similar reduction was granted earlier this year to some Laotians, Cambodians and Burmese resident in the Kingdom.
