Thai Silp could shut down tomorrow
Deputy Industry Minister Piyabutr Cholvijarn noted that Thai Silp South East Asia Import Export Co Ltd could shut down its plants tomorrow (July 20).
"The Thai Textile Institute informed me that it could shut down the business as creditors have refused to extend a credit line. The creditors are unsure if the company has secured orders," he said.
However, the government has prepared measures to accommodate the layoff of workers, he said.
Four related associations have also committed to recruit 3,000 workers to other plants, he noted.
