Sydney - Lleyton Hewitt on Wednesday confirmed the worst-kept secret in tennis as he hired Tony Roche as his coach.
The former number one who now stands 21st, will team with the Australian guru who parted company with Roger Federer in May.
Hewitt's Sydney base will help ease the new relationship with Roche, who prefers to limit his travel.
Hewitt split with his last coach, Roger Rasheed, prior to January's Australian Open.
Roche will work with Hewitt under the same part-time arrangement he had with Federer, with whom he travelled to the Grand Slams.
Hewitt has only managed to win one title per year for the last three, with the Las Vegas crown in February his last success. dpa
