With confidence in the greater trade and investment relationship between Thailand and Taiwan, three electronics associations, in cooperation with Taipei World Trade Centre, chose Bangkok to hold the trade show for the second consecutive year.
Taiwan Trade Centre director Krist YB Yen said yesterday that the fair expected 200 companies to mount exhibits.
After the trade show's success last year, Bangkok was again chosen as the place to display innovative products from Taiwanese electronics and automotive firms.
He said the business-to-business trade show will be held from July 26 to July 29.
"Despite the strengthening baht and political uncertainty, we are still confident of arranging the trade show," he said.
Taiwan is one of the three largest investors in Thailand and total bilateral trade last year stood at US$7.9 billion (Bt262 billion). Electronics and automotive products are the main areas of trade.
"Trade between Thailand and Taiwan has been growing increasingly for years," said Yen, adding the trade show would also increase investment between the two countries.
The Taitronics trade show last year recorded 1,500 corporate visitors, who are large buyers, from 28 countries around the world, and 12,000 visitors in all. It claims to be the largest business-to-business trade show in the region.
Yen said not only would the Taiwanese electronic and automotive firms upgrade their brands' images in the world market at the fair but also show their presence in terms of bases in Thailand.
The show will highlight innovative 3G products, digital photo frames, digital multimedia players, and LCD televisions. Leading exhibitors include BenQ and Tatung.
