SET ends 0.24% lower

Thai shares ended 0.24 per cent lower on mild profit-taking and losses in the regional stock market.

The composite SET index started the day with a gain and headed further north to intraday's peak at 868.70 before slumping to the day's trough at 852.22. The stock market, however, recovered slightly to close the market at 857.08. Turnover was moderate at Bt25.52 billion.

Rayong Refinery Plc (RRC) was the most active stock on Monday, up 3.65 per cent at Bt22.70. Other most active stocks were Artomatics (Thailand) Plc (ATC), up 2.26 per cent at Bt68; and PTT Plc (PTT), surging -.65 per cent at Bt308.

The baht still appreciated to close at Bt33.26-Bt33.28 against the greenback. It opened the market today at Bt33.31-Bt33.33 to the dollar.
