Cholada Mekratree said that her dog is very polite and smart.
"I wanted to have malchi for more than five years. I learned about this breed from my foreigner friend when I travelled abroad. So I asked a dog farm to look for a pedigree malchi for me. Pubpab came to me faster than I expected. That's why I named her Pubpab [Instantaneously]," said Cholada.
While their owners sipped cocktails, the four-legged guests enjoyed a variety sumptuous creative gourmet dog food, including chicken and seafood spring rolls, beef and liver bruschetta, lamb cutlet with potato and carrots, chicken and cheese super supreme pizza, laab gai and roasted beef platter.
"All dishes were prepared by Cesar, which has various flavours for dogs. We want to inspire dog owners to create new healthful and delicious meals for their dogs," said Amphol Nirutaphaphan, marketing and sales director of Effem Thailand Inc, the distributor of Cesar.
A Dog Horoscope booth was also popular and drew many guests who came to have their dog's fate known by having Tarot cards read. Fortune teller Naphapat Chanthai said that people are becoming increasingly interested in dog horoscopes.
"According to astrology, dog is man's follower. People come to fortune tellers because they care about the health of their dogs. To have a Tarot card reading, it's not necessary to bring along the dogs. But the accuracy depends on the concentration of dog's owner while they choose the cards," explained Naphapat.
A highlight of the function was a spectacular fashion show featuring celebrities and their beloved dogs.
Under the theme "Cinderella and Dog Prince", the show started when the cute dog Dome brought a glass shoe to Cesar presenter Sunansa Jiramaneekul.
The celebs and dogs had matching costumes. Featured were Siriorn Mamanee and the handsome schnauzer Garth, who wore a little scarf; Sikanya Sakdidej Bhanubhan and Austin, a cute chihuahua, who had a splendid shoulder doggie bag; and Nakwan Rainanond and the lovely Yorkshire terrier Titi Kaka, who was dolled up with hairpins.
Also making an appearance were Anandhavip Jayangura and his handsome Pomeranian Lucky, wearing a cowboy hat decorated with jewellery; MR Suttipanee Yukara and the joyful beagle Dekdee, wearing a colourful scarf; and last but not least Darunee Kritboonyalai and Miu Miu, a fluffy Pomeranian.
The finale featured Sunansa, Dome, Cinderella and the Dog Prince.
