'Phufa Day' shows the way

The Phufa shops that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened to raise money for job training in remote rural areas are celebrating "Phufa Day" this weekend. There's a big sale on the first floor of Siam Discovery Centre's Grand Hall, with discounts of up to 80 per cent. Celebrities will be there to help you choose something nice. Most of the products sold in Phufa shops are handmade and reasonably priced - and they all make great gifts - and a big part of your spending helps youngsters in need.

-  Royal art for the wearing

The Baan Khun Moo collection of Tshirts and polo shirts all feature humorous drawings by Princess Sirindhorn. All sizes available at Bt350 each.

- All honour to the King

Pay tribute to His Majesty the King by wearing one of these lovely yellow polo shirts. The one bearing the emblem for His Majesty's upcoming birthday costs Bt300, and the other, which has the drawing that Princess Sirindhorn made for him in 1982 - an elephant presenting a lotus flower - is Bt350.

Seven places to go

There are Phufa shops on the second floor of Siam Discovery, at the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Section 24, on Sukhumvit Soi 7, on Kampangpetch Road just outside the subway, at Vimanmek Palace, at Bon Marche and, outside Bangkok, at the Hua Hin Market Village.
