Consumer confidence slides

June's Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) slightly dropped to its lowest record in 65 months to 76.8 per cent from 76.9 in May, according to the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce.

However, in the survey, consumers were more optimistic to future economic growth, due to easing political tension, UTCC said.

Based on 2,243 respondents, consumers were still worried about the economic condition due to high oil prices and baht appreciation. But they are more optimistic with the future as the future confidence index rose to 75.1 point from 74.8 points in May.
