Boonsak adds another agony to Chen Jin's wound

Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana needed only 28 minutes to blow away Chinese Chen Jin in the men's singles first round of the China Master Super Series on his home soil on Wednesday.

[BADMINTON] Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana needed only 28 minutes to blow away China's Chen Jin in the men's singles first round of the China Master Super Series in Cheng Du on Wednesday.

The world's No 10's 21-11 21-16 victory over the Chinese, whose ranking is No 4 was a repeat of the shock result in the SCG Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold last week where Boonsak beat him in the semi-finals.

Boonsak, who is dubbed as the 'Superman' by the Thai media, next faces Malaysia's Muhd Hafiz B Hashim in the second round.

In the mixed doubles, Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thungthongkam also joined the Thai ace in the second round after ousting qualifiers Chinese Zhao Yunlei and Li Rui 2116 2116 in only 28 minutes.

The Thai world No 5 next take on French unheralded Elodie Eymard and Svetoslav Stoyanov in the second round.
