
The rally was still due mainly to foreign fund flow as the baht was closed much stronger to Bt33.48-Bt33.50.
After it was hit by invetors' taking profit for a short period during the morning session, the SET index surged continuously breaking the key barrier in the afternoon session.
An analyst from a local broker said the SET index is likely to move in narrow range. However, many have doubted how much the SET index would rise further without significant correction over the past week.
PTT was the most active stock gainging 4.05 per cent to Bt308, while Thai Oil rose 5.13 per cent to Bt82. International Engineering jumped 16.81 per cent to Bt1.32, while Siam Commercial Bank rose 3.68 per cent to Bt84.5.
