Permanent secretary Sakthip Krairiksh, chairman of a committee evaluating Phornsiri's performance, said his panel would send out evaluation papers to tourism bodies, including the Thai Hotels Association, Association of Thai Travel Agents, Thai Travel Agents' Association, Professional Guides' Association of Thailand and Association of Domestic Travel.
"The ministry wants the private sector to help the ministry monitor the governor's performance and follow her vision and implementation thereof," said Sakthip.
He said the private bodies would contribute 25 per cent of the evaluation's score, while the committee would count for 75 per cent.
The five members of the committee are tourism academics and representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand and Information Department.
Sakthip said the evaluation would focus on progress made in tourism plans and projects proposed by Phornsiri to the ministry before she was made governor. This will be her first appraisal.
