Combining traditional design techniques taken straight from the streets of Piccadilly and the skills of some of Thailand's best tailors, Meticulous Gentlemen's Clothing brings a little taste of London to Bangkok with reasonable prices and an Oriental touch.
London's Jermyn Street, where the tailored shirt was perfected, serves as the inspiration for Meticulous. Essentially crafted in the same way here as in London, it is the individual touch of each tailor which makes these shirts premium, elegant, and unique.
To ensure that Meticulous's shirts are of consistently high quality, Pat Srivareetana, the brand's founder, uses a "one person one shirt" method of production. Employing retired tailors from Bangkok's many tailor shops, and contracting them from home allows the craftsmen to bring their individual skills and years of experience to make the perfect shirt. Each shirt undergoes two quality checks to ensure it meets Meticulous's high standards before it reaches the customer.
The shirts come in two styles, a more casual slim fit with longer sleeves, perfect for rolling up with a hard day's work, and a traditional classic style that comes in brighter colours and has a looser fit.
What sets Meticulous apart from its European counterparts is that it caters to the Thai market. Shirt colours include more pastels, making them less showy than their European equivalents, only 100 per cent cotton fabric is used to fit the Thai climate and the measurements for shirt standards are made to fit the body type of Thai professionals.
Custom tailoring is also offered.
As Pat says, Meticulous' shirts are "not too fashionable, but not too boring, not too old, but not too young".
Along with shirts, Meticulous offers hand-crafted suits and boxers, imported Italian belts, pure silk ties imported straight from London's Savile Row, and a selection of cuff-links both imported and locally designed.
