The fourth-seeded Boonsak lost the nail-biting first game 28-30 but gained his momentum to win the last two games 21-16 21-16 amidst the 2,500 fans who were treated with exciting rallies throughout the 1.13 hour match.
"He was not easy to play with just like our matches in the past. I was a bit down after losing that close first game but somehow I knew I could come back and win,'' said Boonsak, in his quest for the second trophy this season after his remarkable win in Singapore.
Another challenge is up for Boonsak in today's third round clash with Indonesia's 13 th-seeded Simon Santoso who walked away with a victory the last time they met in 2006.
"I lost to him last year. He is a flashy player. I'll play my best because this is a home tournament."
