Tesco Lotus in fruits deal

Tesco Lotus yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives for the purchase of 3,700 tonnes of fruits from Southern provinces worth Bt74 million.

Farmers in Surat Thani, Phang Nga, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Chumphon will supply fruits, including rambutan and mangosteen - directly to Tesco Lotus.

Last year, the retailer purchased a total of 250,000 tonnes worth over Bt1 billion. In May, it signed a purchase agreement with farmers in the East, for the supply of 4,200 tonnes of fruits worth Bt80 million. - The Nation
