Central-SRT negotiation begins

The State Raiway of Thailand and Central Group have signaled a move to negotiate on the land lease contract extension for Central Plaza Ladphrao project.

Kobchai Chirathivat, managing director of Central Inter Pattana Plc which manages the project, said that the SRT's special committee recently inspected the shopping complex and attended a briefing from Central Group's management.

"We are confident that the positive atmosphere at the briefing would encourage all parties concerned to adhere to the negotiation process, so that the project will not be interrupted," he said in a press statement.

Central Group's land lease will expire next year. The negotiation has been delayed for some time, amid rumours that the SRT would not extend the lease and open bids to let in other retailers.
