MSN Mobile set to go

Microsoft will launch MSN Mobile in Thailand, the second country to be offered the service after the first official announcement in the US on June 18.
MSN Mobile is a new version of its online portal adapted for mobile-phone users, who can access it at mobile.msn.co.th.David Raissipour, product unit manger at Microsoft Mobile, said MSN Mobile offered the latest MSN technology and features. "The launch of MSN Mobile in Thailand is part of our commitment to connect people with the information that matters most to them, regardless of connectivity or device," said Grant Watts, general manager of Microsoft's online services. Watts said MSN Mobile would allow about 40 million Thai users to access MSN over their mobiles. Mobile-phone users will be able to access MSN content and functions the same as on a desktop computer. Research has found that 60 per cent of MSN users in Thailand are aged 18 to 35. "Thailand is a unique market. The number of online users and MSN users has seen double-digit growth. It has been a big challenge to launch MSN - with Thai characters. But access to MSN on mobile phones is free of charge," said Raissipour. MSN Mobile in Thailand features downloadable channels for news, football and entertainment. As of last month, there were 6.7 million online users of MSN portals in Thailand.
