To encourage people to do good deeds and work for their country, Kom Chad Luek newspaper and several sponsors yesterday launched the "Outstanding Social Contributors of the Kingdom" campaign.
The idea behind the campaign is that every good deed performed can improve society. The campaign is being held to mark the 80th birthday of HM the King in December and the 36th anniversary of Nation Multimedia Group (NMG), which publishes both Kom Chad Luek and The Nation. The launch took place at the Dusit Thani Hotel. Tourism and Sports Minister Suvit Yodmani chaired the press conference to announce the campaign's launch. Also present were NMG chairman Thanachai Theerapattanavong, NMG vice chairman Thanachai Santichaikul and representatives from the main sponsors. As part of the campaign, Kom Chad Luek will publish the biographies of outstanding social contributors. Its readers are also encouraged to cut a special coupon out of the daily, write a message to encourage people to repay the country and send the coupon to the newspaper, which will then select messages to be published on its front page.
