Thai girls finish 2nd

Thailand's Sangsom routed Garuda of Indonesia 3-0 in their last game to finish second in the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam, on Saturday.

The convincing 3-0 win was not enough to earn Sangsom the title after they lost an important game to Rahat of Kazakhstan on Friday. Rahat emerged champions.

However, Sangsom won three of the seven awards of the tournament. Pluemjit Thinkhaw was named the Best Server, while team-mate Wanna Bua-kaew took the Best Libero award, and Nusara Tomkam won the Best Setter award. Third place went to Japan's Hisamitsu Spring, who crushed Dalian Huanyu from China 3-0.
