Sangsom face tough battle in VN

[VOLLEYBALL] Thailand's Sangsom will have a difficult task when they face Rahat of Kazakhstan in their fifth game of the Asian Women Club Volleyball Championship in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam, today.
The crunch match between the two will decide the eventual winners of the competition. Sangsom, who edged out Japan's Hisamitsu Spring 3-1, and Rahat, who routed Dalian Huanyu of China 3-0 in their fourth games, are unbeaten so far and tied with eight points. The Kazakhs, who lost to Sangsom in the previous year, have a better chance of clinching the title as they are yet to drop a set in the past four games. Hosts' Sport Centre, Sobaeksu of People's Republic of Korea and Hitsamitsu Spring, who have six points apiece from the two wins, are likely to give their best to grab the third place. Dalian Huanyu take on Indonesia's Gurada, who suffered a 3-0 loss to Sobaeksu. Hisamitsu Spring face winless Uzbekistan's Skip, who fell 3-0 to Sport Centre 1. The hosts clash with Sobaeksu in their fifth matches. Meanwhile, Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) announced that the women's national team from Iran will take part in the this year's Asian Sr Women's Championship for the first time after their meeting in Malaysia on Monday. AVC decided to change the competition system for this edition since the meet offers qualifying berths for the Beijing Olympic Games. The final round will be round-robin instead of cross match system.
