Chalad 'locked up'

Political activist Chalad Worachat yesterday announced he would join with the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship and protest against the junta by detaining himself in a model of a cell in front of the Parliament.

Chalad yesterday filed a complaint with the police against the Council for National Security, the Constitution Tribunal, the Election Commission, the National Legislative Assembly, the Assets Examination Committee, the Constitution Drafting Assembly, the Constitution Drafting Committee, the National Counter-Corruption Commission and the Auditor-General's Office, over the negating of the 1997 Constitution.

He said he would join with the anti-coup rally organisers but in his own way. "I'm protesting against the junta by detaining myself in a cell which I have created at the Parliament until democracy returna to the country or until I die," he said.
