Court dismisses lawsuit

The Criminal Court yesterday dismissed a lawsuit by Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra on grounds that she had "no cause" to charge graft busters with abuse of power.

Pojaman lodged her writ on Wednesday claiming charges against her and her husband, ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra, in connection with the Bt772 million Ratchadaphisek land deal were a frame-up.

She submitted a list of defendants comprising 11 members of the Assets Examination Committee and six officials responsible for the graft investigation.

The court ruled that the plaintiff failed to justify her accusations. - The Nation
