M Link looks to after-sales service

M Link Asia expects its Nokia Care Centres to become another major source of revenues, complementing retail sales of mobile phones.
M Link and Nokia inaugurated the 10th Nokia Care Centre yesterday in MBK Centre as part of Nokia's programme of enhancing its after-sales service. M Link president Anusorn Amornchat said his firm enjoyed Bt15 million a month in revenues from co-investing and co-managing the Nokia Care Centres and expected total net profit to reach Bt40 million this year. Unlike mobile-phone retailing, after-sales service carries a good profit margin with no competition. Six Nokia Care Centres are in Bangkok and four in the provinces. Another three will be added this year, one in the capital and two upcountry, said Michael Ang, Nokia Thailand's customer-care manager. The Nokia brand accounts for 90 per cent of M Link's total phone sales, which should amount to about 2 million this year, almost the same as last year. M-Link's business opportunities will grow along with Nokia's sales and market leadership, he added. Nokia Care Centres offer services ranging from repair to consultation on phone features and use, as well as Nokia's phone enhancements and accessories.
